Break Through For Marketing Success

At certain times each of us wonder why we are not having the success that we expect. Or incomes, free time, relationships, and family life seem lacking. So what went wrong? No-one has a "one size fits all" answer to this but if we look under the surface we can see a vein of gold to mine and process.

In his book "The Way of the Wizard", Deepak Chopra quotes the Persian poet Rumi: "You are the unconditioned spirit trapped in conditions, like the sun in eclipse". Deepak is conveying the message that as human beings we are limited by time and space. This explains our struggle to define and attain success in this world. Our spirit, the true power of our very being, gets pushed into second place by our physical nature. This is the human condition it seems, and when it is recognized, we spend the rest of our lives trying to (re)connect with our soul or spirit.

We are not helped by the early socialization and education that we receive. We are strongly encouraged or forced to conform to the standards of the society in which we live. So we take on community norms with regard to success, money, education, right, wrong, and so on. In this process, the individuality of the human being is lost as we receive rewards or punishments for compliant or rebellious behavior respectively.

The brain's goal is survival, as so purposefully told in Jack Canfield's "How to Build High Self-Esteem". Survival is not congruent with non-conformity, so we join the group and we belong. We are conditioned to conceive, believe, and achieve according to society's standards without too much creativity. We are an average member of the community, more proficient in some roles and less in other. But average is not exceptional. An average color would be beige or grey, average temperature is neither hot nor cold. When we look at history, great people were often seen as heretics, eccentric, or just plain crazy.

If we want to be exceptional we must change our conditioning. We do this by examining every ingrained idea that we have. What is our belief about money, love, work, family, education, and play for example? How do we define success in each of these areas? Is that working for you (One of Dr. Phil's favorite questions)? In his book "Spiritual Marketing", Joe Vitale asks us to identify what is blocking us from our success and then he suggests some great methods to remove the obstruction(s).

Robert Kiyosaki, in his "Rich Dad" series disparages the education system for not preparing us to succeed in the real word. Kiyosaki talks about his poor Dad having traditional education system "avoid failure at all costs" type values whereas his rich Dad educated him about the "real world" value of learning from failure.

Bob Proctor, in his CD "What Would You Do If Your Yearly Income Became Your Monthly Income" tells us that we need to become non-conforming and to think outside of the box. Otherwise we are just repeating something that someone else has taught us. He suggests that we must not be afraid to take action just because our circle of friends and family might not agree with us. We must learn to think for ourselves.

The bottom line then is that if we want to be truly successful and find real happiness, we must allow our spirit to shine through onto the world. We are unique and perfect in our own way and that is a great thing. We must, of course, want to learn but we must choose our teachers wisely. Our teachers will only be able to share what they have themselves, so if someone has the success that you want, learn from them. Study them and apply what works into your life.

Finding Top Multi Level Marketing Company

The best place to find the top mlm company is by using the Internet. In order to find these companies, you have to conduct basic web searches of your favorite products or brands to learn more about these programs. You can oftentimes find more information on their corporate websites. Careful research is important for several reasons. These reasons include finding programs that are legitimate, finding programs that pay a fair commission for every purchase that is made through your link and finding programs that are going to be profitable for more than a few months.

Because there are scams and money making schemes posted on the Internet that will not make you any extra money, you need to be able to distinguish them from legitimate programs. This is why researching programs as well as the companies who sponsor them thoroughly is the best way to find the top companies. Mlm programs are also known as affiliate marketing or networking programs. They rely on you to post links to their websites so customers will make purchases. For each purchase they make using your link, you will receive a commission. In order to encourage others to post links, they may ask you to recruit people for them. You will make a small commission off the sales your recruits make.

If you find a program that seems too good to be true, then it probably is. Companies that promise huge commissions should be suspect. While you want to earn as much as possible, companies that promise you a commission of fifty per cent or more are usually not legitimate. Typically your commission will range from twenty to twenty five per cent of sales made through your link. You may earn slightly less when you recruit other people into the program. Finding programs that pay high commissions is best but look out for companies that promise too much.

Mlm programs created by companies who already have a solid brand name and can sell products online with or without your help may not provide much in terms of commissions. Because customers are more apt to visit the company website than use your link, earning a steady commission can be difficult even if you recruit others. When choosing companies to work for, find ones that are not so well known that most people will visit the website directly.

After searching for products online, your next step when looking for top Mlm companies is to contact companies that look promising. Some companies require you to take their training seminars before being allowed to start their programs. Others require that you have a website that can be used to promote products. Once you have signed up to join the program, you will be given a link that you can post in various places on the Internet. This link will include your program information that is used to track the number of sales you make. When you recruit others, their links will include information so these sales can be tracked as well so you can earn a commission.

Jack of All Trades With Your Marketing Methods

Does it matter what the url is or not? Yes. In testing you always analyze, all the way down to lettering in marketing techniques. Now, at Perfect Wealth Formula we have seen in testing that one url from another does increase your response rate, just in the ads for some reason. But we have tested a couple of urls at a time and the response rate is different, so obviously there is something to it. I mean it is the exact same ad but with a different url. And also the way you place the url, I mean from having it all lower case or to having it the first letter in the wording of the url each work of it capitalized, that actually pulls better. So domains these days are really cheap, they are like six, seven, eight dollars, some places you can get them for two, three, four or five dollars. Either way it is under ten bucks and it is cheap for a domain name.

So if you are marketing on pay per click, and I highly suggest when you are first starting out or if you have been marketing for a while and you have multiple marketing methods but you are getting mediocre results, then you should probably concentrate on one method. Our philosophy is to choose one method and learn that method, stick with that method until you master it. Do not move on to another method, if you are doing direct mail off line then stick with it until you master it. If you are using signs to market your business than perfect that before you move on to another method. Maybe you have to work on the coloring of the sign, the size and color of the letters, where are you placing your signs, what locations.

So I highly suggest that you pick one method and you master that technique. You can use pay per click and generate ten, twenty, forty, fifty thousand or more dollars a month with just one marketing method. We have done it, others are doing it, it is definitely possible. You are probably asking yourself well why is that, I always thought that if I did more marketing methods I am going to get more results. I do not know if you have ever heard the saying, but quantity definitely does not mean quality. Quality is better than quantity. We found that out and that is why we will master one thing before we move on to another method to ad to our portfolio marketing. Why is this? The reason being is because if you are all over the place doing your marketing, doing different methods and do not have your sales process right, do not have those marketing methods down pat on how to work them exactly to where you are getting results, you are not going to get the best results.

You are just spinning your wheels in multiple methods so you literally become a jack of all trades and master of none. Nobody wants to be that. You do not want to be a jack of all trades and a master of none. If somebody says, looks like you know a little bit about everything, that is not the way to do it. The way to do it is to become a master of each technique that you tackle. You do not have to tackle a bunch, you do not have to learn pay per click, mailing other peoples' lists, joint ventures, articles and press releases, classified ads, newspapers, magazines, blogs, social sites and networks, you do not have to learn all of these techniques in order to be successful. If you heard me before, I said you can use one technique and make a lot of money just using that one technique. And if you want to ad one more you can still make a boatload of money. You do not have to do a whole bunch to make that boatload of money.

We know why, because we have mastered one and then moved on to another one. It just happens to be what we at Perfect Wealth Formula do and what we teach. So we have to know other techniques in order to teach others. So at Perfect Wealth Formula , we are always mastering new techniques, staying on the cutting edge of the newer methods.

So back to pay per click. It is really simply, all you have to do is come up with an ad. Now, some would say well, developing a three line ad, four lines if you include the url, it is harder than developing an email. Some people say because it is a shorter amount of space to explain what you want to convey. Others will say that it is not that hard at all. We do not think that it is hard at all. The whole purpose, for instance, in your ad, your pay per click ad that you have, is to get the right prospect that is looking for what you have to click through to your link.

How To Find A Profitable Membership Marketing Niche

Membership marketing is an extremely profitable business - if you do it right. Use your membership site to bring in multiple streams of income but only if you target the right market, the market that will be happy to pay for your content, products, and resources. Here are three steps to ensure you hit your target!

#1 Identify Your Money Making Market

You may already have a market in mind. If you do - fantastic! There are a few steps that you'll want to take to make sure that it is a market that will make money. There's no point in building a membership website if it isn't going to put cash in your wallet.

So, maybe you have a passion for nutrition and are interested in a membership site that sells information and products related to nutrition. If this is the case, there are a few things that you will want to do to narrow your niche or create a sub-niche. The more targeted your niche, the more money you'll make.

A sub niche doesn't necessarily mean a highly targeted topic, make it a highly targeted demographic too. Speak to friends, family, and associated to help brainstorm a possibility of sub niches. Explore forums, chat rooms, and other membership sites on relevant topics.

If you do not have a topic or niche identified then use your resources, this again means family friends and business associates for guidance. Ask them what topics they're interested in. Search hobbies, passions, and areas that you are interested in learning more about. For example, rock climbing may be something that you've always aspired to learn. Use this desire to learn to launch a rock climbing membership site.

#2 Determine Demand

To examine whether there is a demand for this information you have a wealth of options.

Check out online bookstores or visit your local bookstore and check out what's on the bestseller's list. These may be topics with an abundance of membership sites already but chances are you will find a profitable sub-niche or specialty market.

Keyword research seems to be where people often go next, keyword research is a valuable tool. Consider repeating the process several times. The first time keyword research may actually help you determine a sub-niche. By searching for a general keyword like nutrition, you may find several sub niche possibilities.

However we're talking about what to do with keyword research once you've determined your niche, keyword research to help you identify demand. For example, you've decided to create a membership site for the senior athlete, athletes over 50. Keyword research will help you learn what topics senior athletes are interested in and which topics receive the most demand.

#3 Dig Deep

It takes more than just a little keyword research to make sure you're hitting the right target market. Remember if your aim is off, your profits will be too.

Dig deep in forums and chat rooms. Forums and chat rooms are a fantastic way to research your market anonymously. Behind the scenes research so to speak. When you learn what other people are looking for, then determine if your sub niche is specific enough to provide it, and if there are enough people interested in the type of information and products you'd be offering.

Feeling bold? Register for the forum and ask questions. Don't give away the bank, there are many people that would gladly take your idea and run with it but asking questions and taking notes will definitely help you understand your market and their needs.

Dig deep by visiting relevant websites. Once you're done digging through the forums and chat rooms, take a peek at the websites that are currently available and relevant to your topic. For example, visit sports nutrition websites and websites for senior athletes. Take a look at the products that they're selling. Don't forget to take a look at the advertisers on their websites too! Visit the sponsored websites to examine their sites and products and study their marketing strategy and audience.

Dig in the back of magazines related to your topic. There is a magazine on just about every topic under the sun. Grab an issue or two and flip to the back. Check out the advertisers. Why? It will give you a list of proven products to promote on your membership site. Magazines are expensive to advertise in, if these companies can afford to pay for an ad, chances are they're doing well and their products are in demand.

Dig deep in article directories. Visit your favorite article directory, like Ezine Articles and search for information on your niche topic. This will give you a quick glance on the current demand for information. It will also give you a list of websites already established in your field. Visit the sites and examine what they're doing right and wrong and what you can take from them and make better.

Marketing Strategy Creates Small Business Marketing Success

Successful building and growth of a business is built on the marketing strategy. The strategy is build on the five key fundamentals which ultimately bring your marketing mix into focus.
1. Who are your current customers and the best qualified potential customers?
2. What is unique about your company that you can offer the market?
3. What will the tone of the marketing messages be?
4. What desired perception of your product/service do you want the market to see.
5. Know, in detail, the reason why a prospect should trust and buy from you rather than your competition.

When you have a marketing strategy in place and apply these key fundamentals to all of your marketing messages you will create consistency. Consistency and repetition are two marketing tactics that are drivers to success. Establish your five fundamentals and you will have the basis to create powerful and effective marketing that creates sales, generates leads, and increases your bottom line.

Your marketing mix will consist of four elements, also known as the four 'Ps'.

Product - Effective product strategies for a small business may include concentrating on a narrow product line, developing a highly specialized product or service or providing a product/service package containing an unusual amount of service. Develop an information packet to offer for free to educate your prospects. They will see you as an expert in your field and contact you when they are ready to buy.

Price - Determining price levels and/or pricing policies (including credit policy) is the major factor affecting total revenue. Generally, higher prices mean lower volume and vice-versa; however, small businesses can often command higher prices because of the personalized service and unique product/service that fills a void in the marketplace.

Promotion - This marketing area includes advertising, marketing, salesmanship and other public relation and promotional activities. This is where your marketing strategy will drive the tone of your message. Stay consistent and focused refusing those 'quick decision' marketing offers. For a small business high quality salesmanship is a must in lieu of their limited ability to advertise heavily. Personalized messages and interaction will create the desired perception.

Place - The nature of the product/service is an important factor in deciding the distribution process. Are you strictly working on the Internet?; Do you need a warehouse & distribution channels?; Are you setting up in your home and will mail your product?; or Are you providing a service and you go to your customers? The successful implementation of the delivery of your product/service increases the trust your customers instill in you.

Your marketing strategy, drafted with the five fundamentals in mind, will create a powerful marketing plan. Use this document to implement your marketing mix to create a consistent message that will create sales, generate leads, and increase your bottom line.

The Basics of Marketing Principles

The STP process is a great place to start, even before your product or service is marketed. STP stands for segmentation, targeting and positioning.

Basically, segmentation is the way in which you recognize your customers. Start by making a list of every potential customer. Then, split that list into smaller, more detailed segments. The best way to use segmentation is by starting out big. For example, put individuals in a different segment than businesses. From that point, continue dividing each segment further. You may want to use demographics such as age, sex, location…etc. Or, you might consider interests, hobbies or group affiliation. The main goal is to find commonalities in buying habits between your segmented groups.

Once you feel that everything has been segmented in just the right way, take time to evaluate each segment. Try to calculate the size of the segment, the likeliness of obtaining them and how much they overlap from one to another.

Targeting is the next step in the process. Here you will make decisions about which segments to pursue. First, you will need to determine the size of your market. Will you target a mass market? Will you target a niche market? Basically, how large or small will your segment be defined? Niche markets are the smallest way to go, which means for less competition.

The two main considerations for choosing between market segments are: recognizing the competition level and knowing the prospective value of the segment. Everything that you do will be dependent on which segment is chosen. It is wise to first evaluate where you want your business to go.

The last step in the STP process is positioning. This will help you to define which method you’ll use to position your product or service. There is another method to help develop this element: the 4P’s " Product, Price, Promotion and Place.

It is vital that the focus of your product follows the direction of your selected target. Find out the needs and wants of the people in your segment. If you are marketing a product that isn’t new, be confident that it fits well within your target market.

The price you choose for your product or service is a very important element. There are many factors that must be considered. You’ll want to think about the meaning behind a price. If it is too little, some might think that your product is cheap. Another factor is competition. It would be foolish to market a similar product at the same price as your competitors, while directed towards the same market. If you want a little assistance in this area, there are entire books written on the subject. Also, avoid the cost plus profit margin mentality. The best way is to evaluate the price independently, while considering competition and value.

Simply put, promotion is the method in which you will deliver your message about your product or service. There are many methods to choose from: Internet, commercials, radio, mass mailings or magazine advertisements.

The last piece of the 4P method is place, which can also be referred to as marketing channels. Place is the technique used to bring your product to market. For example, who will sell your product and where will you sell your product? Will your method be strictly to the customer, or will you use distributors or retailers? Will you use the Internet alone to market your product or will there be traditional methods?

This is a tried and true process that will allow you to organize the plan in your head. Invest time in identifying your strategies and goals on paper and it may help you to explore other opportunities.

Your 2008 Web Marketing Plan

Below you'll find twelve ideas to drive qualified leads to your Web site over the next year. Even if you don't follow this exact order, it might make sense to start with January and February's tasks because they lay the foundation for the rest of the year.

January: Set Up Google Analytics. The reason why this is first on your month-by-month plan is because you should have a benchmark to compare to your year-end results. The reason I suggest Google Analytics over any other traffic report program is the price--free--and the quality, comprehension, and usability of the program.

February: Do a Keyword Analysis. If you use the language of your prospects they'll find you at the search engines. You can uncover the words they use through an in-depth keyword analysis.

We used to recommend keyword analyses to businesses in competitive industries. Now every industry is competitive on the Web, and chances are your competition has already had a keyword analysis done.

Use a tool like Keyword Discovery or WordTracker to help you discover what your prospects are Googling, or have a professional do an in-depth analysis.

March: Review Your Web Site. Take what you learned from your keyword analysis and rewrite the copy on your Web site. Focus on page titles, headers, and your body copy. It's also a good idea to read through your site and excise any out-of-date copy.

April: Gather Information. There are so many amazing resources out there for keeping up with what's going on in your industry...or--better yet--your customers' industries. One of the best ways to manage all of this incoming information is through RSS: Real Simple Syndication.

Blogs, podcasts, search engines and many Web sites can generate newsfeeds that you can subscribe to and manage in one place. Set up a free account at Bloglines or a personalized Google page and start subscribing. Then watch targeted news and information flow your way.

May: Get Social with Social Media. Social media Web sites are places where your customers and prospects congregate. You should be there. Don't look at this as a place to push your products and services, but rather to listen and learn. B2C companies should check out MySpace, while any business can benefit from a presence on Facebook or LinkedIn.

June: Focus on Your Blog. With your keyword analysis under your belt and a fresh delivery of news and information on your chosen areas of expertise, posting regularly to your blog should be a snap.

I can't think of anything that can jumpstart your organic search engine visibility and establish your expertise and credibility quicker than a focused, content-rich blog.

Beginners: If you don't have a blog and aren't ready to take the leap, consider finding the influential bloggers in your niche, then read and comment intelligently on their blog. It will be a good first step into the blogosphere.

Experts: Set a goal of doubling the number of subscribers to both your RSS and email feeds. Put your feed signup "above the fold," if it's not there already.

July: Get Ready for Your Close Up. Most Web marketers agree: video is the killer app. Videos engage people in ways that words often fail to do. Search engines such as Google and Ask are returning video with traditional Web pages.

If you already have videos on your site consider setting up a free account at YouTube, starting your own channel, and uploading your videos there. A single video might bring you thousands of visitors.

August: Spread the Word with Article Marketing. Article marketing is an underutilized method of reaching thousands of prospects that would have never heard of you otherwise.

By sending out short, targeted articles through an article distribution service such as iSnare or The Phantom Writers, you can drive links and traffic back to your Web site or blog.

Use your completed keyword research to help you write compelling, click-worthy articles that can't be ignored.

September: Dust Off Your Email Newsletter. Email may be getting a bad rap these days due to low delivery rates, but it's still a cost-effective way of reaching a wide swath of Internet users. Remember: no one's ever coming back to your Web site. Ever. Not even your Mom. So get over it.

Instead, provide a compelling reason for them to subscribe to your email newsletter so that you can stay in contact with them and retain front-of-mind real estate for when they're ready to make a buying decision.

October: Publish Your eBook. Remember when I told you to set up Google Analytics? Well, now it's time to review your stats and find out which keyword phrases are driving the most traffic to your site.

Maybe it's "deep fry a turkey." Or "spanking alternatives." Or "buying carbon emission credits."

Whatever's driving traffic to your site is an opportunity for an eBook topic. It's an itch that needs scratching. Now, start writing.

November: Give an Ear (or a Voice) to Podcasts. You don't have to host your own podcast to realize and leverage the power of podcasting.

You can find podcasts in your niche or industry by browsing the podcast directory in the Apple iTunes store. (Don't worry: they're almost invariably free, and no, you don't need an iPod to listen to a podcast, just a computer.)

Listening may give you the impetus to start your own or to at least contact some podcasters in your industry and see if they want to interview you.

December: Put on a Webinar. The cost of putting on Webinars has come down in recent years. Yugma.com offers free and inexpensive methods to create your own Webinars, then you can record them and sell them as digital downloads.

Whatever you method for delivery, Webinars allow you to communicate with many people at once anywhere in the world.

In Conclusion: 2008 is going to be your best year ever...if you start planning now. Don't try and do everything at once, but budget time every month to accomplish your goals for that month.

Four Problems with Bum Marketing

The definition of bum marketing is: Using free web page sites for promoting affiliate programs, and then using free links to get those pages ranked well enough in the search engines to actually get some traffic to them. Usually the marketer targets "long tail" keyword search phrases that don't have a lot of relevant competition in the existing search results. Bum marketing has attracted a large following of practitioners in the past year.

The idea is to spend a few hours per day (or per week) in your spare time building these web pages and then linking to them from social bookmark sites. Eventually you'll have dozens of these things, each making a sale or two every month. It can add up. If you build 100 pages each earning an average of $40 per month, you really got something there.

As good as this sounds, most bum marketers fail and eventually give it up. While not sticking with it is certainly a guaranteed way to fail, many who start out doing this actually make a good decision to give it up. There are certain problems with this marketing strategy. Let's look at the four major ones.

1. Not Getting the Pages Ranked Well. Many beginning bum marketers discover that making a web page and actually getting it placed in search engine results (where people will find it) are two entirely different things. Knowing which free web-page hosting sites to use, maintaining a link-building campaign, and patience are three things that must be employed to succeed. In addition, choosing the right long-tail keyword search phrases to target is critical.

2. Not Keeping the Page Rankings. Even if you manage to get a page ranked well in the search engines, you will find that keeping it there is another matter entirely. Most free web pages, even on the most loved sites by the major search engines, just don't have staying power in the SERPs. And building a large enough link-structure to keep it there is a lot of work for a page that you hope will make $40 per month (if that).

3. You are Not Building a Real Business. What if the free web page site you are using goes down one day and never comes back? You don't own the domain names so you got nothing. There goes months of work up in smoke by one unforeseen event which you have no control over.

4. It's Not the Best Use of Your Time. If you are going to spend 12-20 hours per week building web pages and links, you could be building one massive authority site instead. Perhaps for a major search term that you can possibly conquer the top spot for inside a year's time. A website like that (in the right niche) can bring in upwards of $10,000 per month in income from various sources. What's more, you own it and as long as you don't go anywhere your site (and business) will still be there.

It might seem like I am building a case against the whole bum marketing thing. Actually I am a successful bum marketer myself, and really have nothing against the methodology. There are some smart ways to go about it, but most people get it wrong. I just wanted you to know what you are getting into and have you think twice before you possibly waste many hours of your time.

Internet Marketing Advertising - Differences between Marketing and Advertising

Marketing and Advertising, although they sound similar but in reality they are not. Advertising is only a part of the bigger game called Marketing. Marketing encompasses complete conceptualization of a brand right from research to designing to advertising to sale. Advertising, on the other hand is a component of the marketing process which is nothing but conveying the message through variety of mediums to promote the product.

Advertising is one of the most important component of a marketing strategy and also the most expensive. Advertising constitutes sending the message across the public about your company, product or services. It also constitutes behind the scenes work like the process involving formation of various strategies and coming up with a right one to target the viewers. The strategy consists of planning things like placing ads, deciding what media to use, what time, frequency etc. The advertisements are generally placed via mediums like television, snail mail, newspapers, internet, emails, radio, magazines, mobile messaging, flyers, billboards etc. The most popular one is of course television although advertising on internet is becoming increasingly popular too.

Easiest way to differentiate advertising from marketing is to consider marketing as a cake and if you cut the cake, advertising as one of the pieces of that cake. The other pieces of cake are market research of the product, product designing, media planning, PR, product pricing, customer satisfaction, customer support, sales and many more. All these components or pieces of cake should work independently but collectively in achieving the bigger goal i.e. sell product and build company's reputation in the market. Marketing is a marathon process involving many tasks that involve hours sometimes days of research. The research part of marketing takes the longest duration as it involves thoroughly understanding the behavior of people towards a product. Designing the product and developing advertising strategy is also a time consuming process. Only components that take less time are executing advertisements and sales. Marketing can also be perceived as a medium between consumers and the company.

But many companies often make mistake of confusing advertising with marketing. They try to ape big companies like Coke and Pepsi in advertising but they simply ignore the work that goes behind that. The classical example of this is, take the case of logo for instance. Many business owners are so hysterical about the logo of their company in their advertisements that they think that it will simply bring in the sales. But what makes a logo works is none other than the reputation of the company and the logo must have a feeling to it and should truly reflect company's values. One should also remember that these companies spend fortunes on advertising which a new start up business can't. Rather than spending unnecessary money on branding your product one should invest money and time in communicating to the consumers that they can address their expectations. After building reputation and growing to a big size company one can think of these lavish ideas. Educating the consumers also helps as it will give them an understanding that you know what you do and are best at doing that.

Smart marketers are aggressive in approach rather than passive. They provoke reader's minds by prompting them to do something rather than just making them knowledgeable of the product. Smart marketers also bring home the names, addresses and contact numbers of people who are really interested in hiring your company by employing aggressive marketing. Thus having a good marketing campaign speaks a lot about the company and their products and advertising gives that finishing touch to the hard work done by the marketing people in selling a product.

Niche Marketing Your Home Based Business

One of the most commonly made mistakes by fledgling home based business entrepreneurs is the notion of over diversifying their advertising attempts. For example, if you are in the market of baking dog biscuits, advertising on the Internet to people across the country is not a very conducive method. After all, there are probably plenty of dog cookie bakers in their neck of the woods as well. You will need to carefully consider the other options available that may make more sense.

The wise home based business entrepreneur will instead choose to identify the niche audience that will be most likely to present the desired target audience for any given product or service. Then, the goal is to advertise strongly to this niche audience, beginning on the local level. This step cannot be overemphasized! There are those business owners who have found that this is a very valuable concept to incorporate into their business plans.

Far too often the idea of taking the niche ads to members of the niche which are non-local has led to an overly diverse nature in the ad campaigns. Unfortunately, this very approach has caused an undue stretching of the ad budget and also by force necessitated a lower quality campaign than what would have been considered useful and helpful.

Add to this the fact that a strong local campaign will build up word of mouth traffic and thus cause a strong local clientele to be built up - a customer base which will fund the business in its early stages and also provide the income and profit that can then be reinvested into the business at large and the advertising budget in particular - and you can see why an appeal to the local niche is a top priority.

Only when these marketing efforts have been exhausted or resulted in high profits is it time to expand. Once again, it is wise to expand gradually, and niche marketing your home based business to neighboring cities and counties before going national and later on global is the best course of action.

This gradual approach ensures that you remain competitive at home, garner a stellar reputation, and therefore also remain on the cutting edge of the business you have chosen. Such an approach will later on find easy transferability to the national level and with the local success behind you, the national success is only a few ad campaigns away.

Granted, there is no guarantee that your national ad campaign will succeed and cause your business to suddenly sprout wings. As a matter of fact, other places in the country may not be nearly as interested in your dog biscuits - or any dog biscuits in general - than your home town, but for what it's worth, your gradual approach will have built up enough of a local niche clientele to sustain even such a setback! Remember that market conditions and consumer behavior are forever changing and it may only be a matter of time until the market is ready for you!

30 Minute Mortgage Marketing

30 Minute Mortgage Marketing

Although I can't promise you a complete meal in just 30 minutes as does Rachael Ray on the Food TV Network...I can provide you a solution that can help with your mortgage marketing program and your loan originations. Especially, if you can't find enough time to really do your marketing.

Here's what you need to do...Promise yourself that you'll spend 30 uninterrupted minutes each day working on the marketing part of your mortgage business. Set aside a 30 minute block of time. Turn off your cell phone. Checking your email and surfing the Internet is not allowed. Answering the phone is not allowed. Out bound calls are allowed. Use a timer or alarm because clock watching is not allowed either.

The next 30 minutes are your marketing minutes, so make the most of this time. Here are but a few suggestions on how to spend those precious 30 minutes:

1. Update your database information, 2. Critique and improve your web page, 3. Write a few "Thank You" notes or cards, 4. Write a mortgage article for your website, 5. Review and improve your advertising copy, 6. Create a new direct mail piece or marketing flier, 7. Write and send your press release to a media outlet, 8. Schedule a lunch or two with your mortgage contacts, 9. Write a mortgage "white paper" to be used as a give away, 10. Set up appointments with mortgage prospects or customers, 11. Organize a drip marketing system using postcards for your niche, 12. Touch base with the Realtor/Agents that you exchange leads with, 13. Edit your marketing material such as your fliers or tri-fold brochure, 14. Review and evaluate the results of the niche you are promoting and marketing, 15. Study and determine the results you're receiving from your mortgage advertising.

If you're on a roll with your 30 minutes, by all means take advantage of the situation, and carry on a while longer. There's nothing magic about the 30 minute mark. You can make it 20 minutes or 45 minutes. Just make the commitment and focus on the task you have chosen.

Schedule your 30 minute marketing period every day and over time, you'll see some pretty significant results. Incidentally, this little technique works for other chores you've been putting off.

You'll notice in all of this, there's nothing mentioned about reading your FHA manual, or the marketing book you just purchased, or the self improvement book that's been sitting on your book shelf the last year or so.

Yes, I'm very much a believer in continuing education and self improvement. There's no doubt you need to allocate time every day to do these things too. But, this 30 minute block of time we are scheduling is your "marketing time" and has a direct bearing on your loan originations, your pipeline and your bank account. Start this little program today, your mortgage marketing success depends on it.

How to Keep Your Direct Marketing List Data Clean and Effective

Your direct marketing lists can take an age to build and create, but just an instant to become out of date.

Because the quality of your mailing list plays such a huge role in the success of your direct mail campaigns, it's vitally important to make sure your list is always clean, accurate and up date.

Data doesn't have an endless shelf life - it changes constantly and is out of date as soon as it is collected. This is because a direct marketing list of people will always change, because people change. Their lifestyles and circumstances can alter at any time. And this applies to b2c consumer marketing lists and to b2b business lists just as equally.

Keeping an up to date and accurate direct marketing mailing list is more important than you may think.

Potential customers can be instantly switched off to your proposition if you've spelt their name or address incorrectly. Plus there are the potential cost implications of sending multiple mailers to the same address by mistake.

Using commercially available services such as Easycheck from www.selectabase.co.uk, there are several forms of data screening and cleaning which you can use to ensure the accuracy and so the quality of your valuable data:

Bereavement Screening There can be few other marketing errors so distressing for the recipients as sending a mailing to a person who has recently passed away, Not only can it greatly upset their relatives, but it can also create additional work for them in having to inform you of your error. Using bereavement screening suppression services direct marketers can screen their data for any recently deceased people.

Gone-Away Screening Gone away suppression draws upon regularly updated data for consumers and businesses that have changed location. Few of us remember to notify absolutely everyone we need to when we move house, so using a gone away suppression service can ensure that your marketing lists are as up date as they can be.

Telephone Preference Service Screening Research by www.tpscheck.co.uk shows that over 60% of UK households and more than 55% of businesses have registered telephone numbers with the Telephone Preference Service, in order to block unwanted sales calls. This means that around 3 out 5 unchecked sales or marketing phone calls to consumers or businesses will now be to a TPS or CTPS registered number.

Businesses using the telemarketing without checking numbers against the TPS and CTPS registers first are now more likely to call registered numbers than unregistered phone numbers. If reported, the caller could face legal action and even a £5000 fine, so businesses are being urged to check phone numbers first before they make a call.

Mailing Preference Service screening The Mailing Preference Service or MPS register, enables consumers to have their names and home addresses in the UK removed from lists used by the direct marketing industry. Unwanted direct mail is unpopular with consumers, damaging to the direct mail industry, and unnecessarily costly to your business.

Wastage in direct mail is also seen to be damaging to the environment, not just in the amounts of paper wasted in this way but also the energy cost used to transport mailers to recipient's homes.

Deduplication Deduping your database screens it for multiple entries for the same address. These multiple entries can be caused by data entry errors, multiple responses by prospects, or when lists are merged with each other. Sending more than one mailer to the same address not only costs more, but looks highly unprofessional as well.

These simple forms of data screening can be used to ensure that your direct marketing campaigns are targeted, efficient and fully ethical.

Steve Sellwood is from www.selectabase.co.uk, an independent UK provider of data cleansing services to clean and improve your existing customer database. The Selectabase suite of affordable data cleansing services includes 1Check to identify individual TPS registered numbers online, and free Easycheck software to check, clean and profile your own lists from your own PC.

What to Consider When Evaluating Direct Marketing for Your Business

Over the last two to three years, the use of direct marketing has increased by almost 20%. Much of this growth in use has been driven by the increasingly important role of the internet in direct marketing.

Almost three quarters of larger UK companies use direct marketing as a marketing communication tool. These larger businesses also spend a higher proportion of their marketing budget on direct marketing than most small businesses.

Probably around two thirds of direct marketing takes place in the business to business, or b2b market and one third of direct marketing is aimed at consumers.

What budget should I allow for direct marketing?
Research by the direct marketing industry shows that smaller businesses usually spend 0.5-1% of their turnover on direct marketing. So, if you business turnover is £500,000, you would typically expect to allocate between £2500 and £5000 for direct marketing activities.

The other way to decide what budget you should allocate to direct marketing, is as a proportion of your overall marketing spend. Most smaller businesses spend up to about 25% of their marketing budget on direct marketing, and larger businesses often spend a far higher proportion - up to half of their budget.

What direct marketing tools should I use?
The most common direct marketing tool is direct mail - sending promotional mailings to named individuals in the postal system. Direct mail accounts for about a quarter of the total amount UK businesses spend on direct marketing.

The next most popular direct marketing tool is online internet advertising primarily through the use of pay per click advertising and banner adverts.Other direct marketing tools which are used on a fairly frequent basis are magazine display adverts designed to generate a direct response, door drops to consumers' homes, loose inserts in magazines and newspapers, and field marketing.

Telemarketing has decreased in popularity due to the increasing number of registrations with the Telephone Preference Service and Corporate Telephone Preference Service.

Newer emerging direct marketing methods include email marketing, which is overcoming initial concerns about the legality of its use by launching newer sources of double opt in email marketing lists. Also growing as a niche tool is mobile marketing, using SMS messaging to interact with consumers on their mobile phones.

Which direct marketing tools are the most effective?
Recent surveys of the sales generated by direct marketing show that nearly half of sales are generated by online sales from websites on the internet, and around 10% sales are generated by mail order and home shopping type direct marketing activities. The remainder of sales are generated by other direct marketing tools such as telemarketing and field marketing.

What direct marketing response rates can I expect?
Direct mail is by far the most popular direct marketing tool, accounting for around a quarter of all DM activity. Looking at the response rates from direct mail campaigns, it is generally accepted that you can expect typical response rates of 1-5% from your mailing.

5 Common-Sense Things To Consider When Creating Your Marketing Plan

I don’t know about you, but the closer we get to December 31, the more communications I see aimed at planning for the next year. This article is no exception, but hopefully contains some common-sense food for thought.

First, let me say that if you’ve waited until now to start your planning for next year, you’ve left it too long. You’re not too late - it’s never too late - but it’s a good practice to start your next year’s marketing plan near the beginning of the final quarter of the year, if not a little earlier. This gives you time to research new ideas and tactics, brainstorm with other stakeholders there may be in your business, develop your budget, and fine tune your plan before implementation at the first of the year.

By waiting until now (or, heaven forbid, during Christmas/New Year’s week), you most likely won’t be in a position to implement any plans until well into the first quarter. You also run the risk of rushing projects and putting new plans into place that are far from perfect, which can have an adverse effect on your business.

The good news is that you can review your plans as often as you wish, and make changes throughout the year. But, had you been proactive outlining your plans during the previous year, you would likely find only minor tweaks needing to be done.

Here are a few common-sense things to consider when developing your marketing plan for the coming year:

1. Budget. The foundation for your plan. You may have great ideas, but if you or your company are not willing to make an investment to support them, then you need to go back to the drawing board. If you’ve got a small budget or limited means, then get creative. Find out what will give you the best, most qualified exposure for your money. Talk to business associates and suppliers. Pick their brains. There’s usually at least one good idea you can get out of conversations with people outside your company, even if it’s just a passing comment that sparks something in you.

2. Review past successes and failures. See what worked for you over the past year, and repeat it - just make a few modifications to ensure the tactic is relevant and current.

3. Research. Vital to anything you haven’t tried before, tried before and failed with, or tried in the past and want to re-visit. Tactics are changing quickly, with emergent methods of internet marketing, and increasing consumer knowledge. What worked 3 years or even 3 months ago probably won’t work now. If you tried something before but found it failed, why did it fail? Can you make small changes to the tactic and make it work now? Make sure you’ve done the legwork before you finalize your plans.

4. Year-long testing. Staggering results come in from MarketingSherpa and other sources about the lack of e-mail testing, and testing in general, that’s being done by businesses all over the world. It’s just not widely practiced. My guess is that it’s due to a global shortage of resources, such as time. Here’s an idea: build testing into your marketing plan. For every program or promotion or advertising campaign, you need to have the plans in place to monitor the success or failure of the activity. For example, test variables like keywords or phrases, for different e-mail campaigns during a promotion. Find out which ones improve open rates, click-throughs, and so on. The tactic you’re implementing has a timeline attached to it. So should your testing and tracking.

5. Vendor relationships. While this is slightly outside the scope of developing a marketing plan, it’s a good idea to review your suppliers at least once a year. You may have a supplier that’s a great person and easy to work with, but hasn’t been able to meet one of your deadlines. It may be time to cut them loose. The old adage that “time is money” is more true today than ever with tightening opportunity windows. Assess each vendor’s work, and the cost of doing business with them. If you can live with missed deadlines because the vendor does fantastic work, then have a serious chat with them to correct the problem, and don’t put up with excuses. A good relationship often outweighs the costs of starting over with a new supplier.

In all, it’s best to kick the new year off with a solid marketing plan in place. However, remember to review your plan periodically during the year - monthly, quarterly, bi-monthly - however often you choose to do it. Make changes to your plan as you see fit. It’s not carved in stone, and your year-end results are what count, not how many changes you made to your marketing plans during the year to get there.

3 Membership Marketing Profit Plans

Presumably, you have a membership website to make money or your thinking about starting a membership site to make money. Either way if you’re not taking advantage of these three profit plans, you’re missing out.

Profit Plan #1 Thriving Affiliate Programs Affiliate marketing is a great way to make ongoing extra income from your membership site with very little effort. It’s also important to note that your members do want to learn from you so you’ll want to balance affiliate promotions with your own products too. You won’t be an expert in every subject and so complimentary products are a great way to increase income; just make sure the products aren’t directly competing with what you have to offer.

Really make affiliate programs work for you:

1.Select affiliate programs that are relevant to your niche subject to retain the credibility of your site and entice your members into purchasing the products they need. Find affiliate products which are complimentary to your own, not competitive.

2.Pre sell the product to your members. This will make it much more likely that they will buy when they reach the merchant’s site. Write a personal review or interview the product owner.

3.Weave affiliate links into your content on your site. Simply writing product reviews or blogging about why you like the product from a personal standpoint is often enough for your members to trust your recommendation and want to buy from you.

Profit Plan #2 Advertising Aces AdSense is a simple way to make money from your free membership site. Every time someone clicks on the Ads you’ll get paid a certain amount per click. The amount will vary from niche to niche but overtime particularly if you have a large membership base will be very profitable.

1.To really make advertising pay on your membership site you must have a very large membership base. Consider having low subscription fees or completely free membership if you plan to make advertising your main revenue stream.

2.Make sure your AdSense links really are relevant to your niche topic and add valuable content to your site to retain credibility with your members. For more control, select default advertisements to use instead.

Profit Plan #3 Selling Superior Information. Want a great, and inexpensive way to increase membership site revenue and value? Sell information products. Ebooks, reports, online classes, workshops, tutorials, audio files, videos, and even software can be created for a relatively low cost and sold for a tremendous profit.

The great thing about many of these products is that they are instantly downloadable by your members. This means that they get instant gratification and you don’t have to deal with the cost of production. Once your product is complete, it’s ready to go and can be distributed an unlimited number of times.

Make maximum revenue!

•Superior products result in superior profits. Make your e-book superior with a high level of research, writing , and graphics and illustrations.

•Promote early. Promote the e-book on your site and in your members’ forum. Put extracts from the book onto your site to get members excited about reading more.

•Offer incentives. Use your e-book as an incentive to subscribe to your site. If you give your e-book to members for free when they sign up consider offering them the book in installments or chapters to integrate them into your community.

•Weave affiliate links into your information products to ensure that they carry on producing revenue for you even after they have been sold.

Calendar Printing and 7 Ways of Making Prints more User Friendly

Sometimes to win the advertising game, you have to make your own rules. While your unimaginative rivals are scampering to get their calendars ready for January, you can leave them to compete among themselves. Who says calendar printing should be for January only?

Calendars are great marketing material. It is both functional and decorative, leaving you plenty of room to showcase your products without being purely aesthetic. It stays with your clients 365 days, 24/7 and offers great use and visibility at the same time. It can be consulted for day-to-day important activities, meetings to keep and decisions to make.

Other Calendar Options Tailor-Fit to Your Clients’ Routine:

The primary function of calendars is to help people organize their events and activities. Because different people follow different timelines and cycles, you can have calendars that are responsive to these needs. It will set you apart from competition and will win the appreciation of your customers.

1. Fiscal Calendar Year:

• If your clientele are mostly businesses themselves a fiscal calendar is a great calendar to give away. Because Christmas season is a busy time for businesses to settle their financial obligations (i.e. tax remittances, etc) the start of the year is moved to a more relaxed time. Although the start of the fiscal year may differ from company to company, it generally begins on July 1, and ends on June 30.

• When you design a fiscal calendar you can include important details. Deadlines for tax payments and their corresponding grace period extensions will remind businessmen to work on their papers ahead of time. Also you can include the routine civic holidays issued by the government. This way you can adjust your workload to still meet deadlines.

2. Academic Year:

• If your business deals with or caters to the academic community, then you might consider printing academic calendars as your promo item.

• The academe often has its own set of activities and its own yearly cycle which students, their parents, and those who work at the academe follows. Although each school follows a different schedule you can use months in general instead of being specific with the date. School starts on September and ends in June. It also follows holidays set by the government.

3. Other Calendars:

• There are other calendar options depending on your demographic. Lunar calendars may be more popular than you might think. The Chinese wait for the full moon to declare their New Year celebration. There are still a lot of people who consult the movement of the stars to determine their luck as well.

• And as you might notice, there are also calendars that readily give out information of the phases of the new moon and even the rise and fall of ides.

• Different religions also follow different calendars. Although they subscribe to the Roman calendar, it is worthwhile to note that major world religions such as Islam, Catholicism, Judaism, and others have their own set of holidays and festivities that you can include in your calendar.

Calendar printing may seem like the most standard marketing material. If you want to leave your competition to the dust, you should be able to point out to the clients that you have unique insight of their needs.

Many methods are devised and utilized to ensure that there would be more people to boost the sales and to be aware of the existence of such a product or service. Website visitors are potentially the life blood of your internet based business.

Yahoo/Overture utilizes the same principle as Google’s Adwords. In fact, they are very similar to each other that they use keyword and keyword phrase searches and to determine which ads to show per search. When a person types in a keyword or keyword phrase to search for anything, the search engines gives out the results in a page. Then at the right side of the page, you will see selected ads that have paid for their ads to be viewed with certain keywords and keyword phrases searched.

For example, Lets say you run a car parts retail/wholesale site. You choose keywords that can prompt or trigger your ads to be shown in the page when a keyword is searched. When a search engine user types in Honda Accord, your ad may come up if you have designated that as one of your keywords. You don’t need to fully optimize your site with Search Engine Optimization methods and techniques.

While some labor so hard to make their site one of the high ranking sites per keyword search, you get the chance to be on the top of the list or at least in the first page of a search result increasing your chance to be clicked on. With that, you drive traffic and website visitors to your site a lot faster.

You will have to pony up some cash when using this service though. There are different ways Yahoo/Overture will charge you. It may be in the number of Keywords or Keyword phrases your ad uses or in the many times your ad is clicked on. Others offer many other services like having your ad show up not only in the search engine pages but also with some third party sites.

Third party sites support ads that have the same theme or niche as them. With more areas your ad is shown, you increase the chances of people knowing about your site or product. With more website visitors you increase the sales of your site which makes your investment with your ads a wise one.

With so many competitions in the internet based businesses, it is necessary to take a huge leap forward from the pack by advertising. Yahoo/Overture will be a great place to start. Many have utilized their services and have reaped the rewards of this decision. It’s a marketing strategy that will increase your website visitors as well as increase your sales resulting to profit.

There are so many success stories you will hear about businesses making it good in the internet. The troubling thing is, there are maybe a tenfold or even a hundredfold of stories contradictory to theirs. Many have unsuccessfully launched a business enterprise that is internet based but only a handful shall succeed.

Is this through luck? That is even more remote. It takes good business sense and a lot of help and team effort. Most importantly, it is the eagerness to succeed and the determination to learn and the willingness to invest in a lot of hard work and some money.

The Very Basic...

Like Neo, traffic is “The One”. Without traffic, all your effort would just go to waste. Every business needs customers, without them you wouldn’t have anyone to sell your products to. In the internet world traffic is the walk in customer. The more traffic you have the more people would be able to sell your products to.

But like any business that’s in every corner building or in the mall, not everyone that goes in will buy, but the greater of number that do come in to browse your merchandise, the greater number of people that will buy your products. It is a simple and known fact.

But, how do you get traffic, traffic large enough that could make a small percentage of eventual buyers enough to make a good profit. Many big companies generate traffic of tens of thousands a day and a measly ten to fifteen percent actually buys, but that small percentage is enough to provide them with good business.

Many of these success stories get their traffic from paying others. Yes that’s right; you have to spend money to make money. Advertising is the key. The more people that knows that your site exists; the more people would of course go to your site, that’s common sense.

While there are many ways that can get you advertising for free, this do not generate the same high volume as those methods that are getting paid. These paid advertisements include advertising schemes by Google and Yahoo.

The Value of Searches...

The search and will be the easiest and fastest medium in finding what a person needs in the internet. Search engines have been very popular because they provide a vital service to many people. They are free and easy to use. With this popularity, they get many visitors and clicks that they are the most common sites that people go to. It is easy to understand why so many companies would pay to advertise with these search engines.

Search engines provide information to the millions of users that they have each day. They provide links to many sites that a user may be looking for. If your sites link pop up in the high ranks of the search results page, you get a great chance that they will go to your site. While search engine optimization is a cheaper and low cost way to get your site a high rank, paying for advertisements will ensure that you will be on the top ranks.

When you pay for your advertisements, it is like paying for your traffic. This may sound like not such a good idea, but the payoffs would tell a different story. When you pay for your traffic, you are guaranteed of a consistent traffic flow to your site. You will never go with an empty sales day.

Paying for your Traffic...

Usually, you will be charged with the number of hits a link gets when your ads is clicked, this is called pay per click. For some search engines, you will be charged with the number of times your ad shows up when a certain keyword or keyword phrase is searched. It is imperative that you have good keyword content in your ad. There are many tools that aid you in using the right keyword for the right moment.

Remember it takes money to make money, while there are some methods that are basically low cost or free, using a marketing service such as what Yahoo/Overture offers will provide results faster and on a larger scale. Many businesses have learned this the hard way, don’t be counted with them.

All the money you spend in paying for your traffic will not be for naught. You will get an impressive boost in traffic which will also result to a great boost in your sales figures. Paying for your traffic would be a really good idea and you will get all the benefits it has to offer.

hock Discovery! Network Marketing Success Depends On The Customer!

For many network marketers the search for new leads is often emphasised to the exclusion of all else. However, it is important to understand that the most successful network marketing entrepreneurs concentrate a larger proportion of their time on maintaining a good relationship with their customer base. They know that there is a link between closed sales and a profitable business which correlates to the connection that exists between customer relationship management and network marketing success.

The fact is that a successful network marketing business is almost always one that concentrates on customer relationship management because success in that field is something that will yield results over time no matter what the market does. Although customer relationship management is a widely applicable concept, practical application of the concept will also vary greatly from one network marketing business to the next.

Although each network marketer will need to develop a relationship management strategy to suit his or her own particular business, there are also some aspects of customer relations development which are similar to all businesses. These similarities would be a good starting point for you to begin considering how to get to know your customer base especially if you are uncertain as to whether or not you really are making the most of your network marketing business with respect to building, maintaining, and deepening relationships with your customers.

Here are some pointers, then, to developing a better relationship with your customer base, which, in the case of the network marketing industry, may be either product purchasers or your network or down line.

1. Perhaps the most important practice that you need to implement is to keep a record of customer contacts. That should be an extension of the tracking procedures you already have in place to keep tabs on how your different advertising and publicity campaigns are performing. By keeping a record not just of how many customers a particular campaign yielded, but also who those customers were you will get a much better picture of your market. In turn, that will give you a clearer idea as to how to deal with your customers and manage the relationship you have with them from the point of first contact. When, where, and why did the customer - or potential customer - first make contact with you?

2. Next you need to ask yourself what it was that made your product or network marketing business attractive enough to the individual to generate a response or a sale. Check your sales material to see what the words and phrases were that you used and the idea you were trying to get through, and in so doing you will discover which need of your customer you addressed on that day.

3. Once you have identified the need that the customer believed your product or network marketing business could fulfil, it would be advantageous to become familiar with your customer's time schedule. For example, if you know that your customer will be spending the summer with his or her children and if there are three months left until the first day of summer vacation, you will have just formulated your actual window of opportunity for closing the deal and introducing another candidate to your down line! Work with the time frame provided and help your customer understand how she or he can best utilize this time frame in order to achieve the desired goal.

4. The way to find out about the customer is to ask! Do not be shy. Just ask! From the start of your relationship with your customer you should be maintaining regular contact at the very least by email. You may automate the process by writing a series of letters and loading them into an auto-responder, or you may find it better to tailor each message to a particular customer. Either way, your communication should encourage feedback via questions. You need to engage with your customer in a friendly manner and find out which objections, if any, the customer has, what constrains them, what concerns them, and what little push or incentive you could provide in order to make the customer close the deal.

A successful network marketing business relies on customer relationship management more heavily than is often realized. If there is no follow-up on the part of the network marketer then the customer will swiftly go cold and lose interest. It is a fact that most people do not buy the first time they see an offer. Following up on your potential customers is vital if you are to increase your sales results. Thus, while the hunt for lead will almost certainly continue to take over the lion's share of the average network marketer's attention, it is the network marketer who focuses on developing good customer relationships who will build a successful business in the long run.

7 Marketing Lessons We Can Learn From TV Infomercials

I hate to share this, but I love watching infomercials. And I've ordered more than once from them! Everything from cosmetics to a cell phone accessory.

When pressed, my friends admit the same. If you sniff around most people's homes, you'll find SOMETHING ordered from an infomercial, whether it's the Ronco Rotisserie or Victoria Principal's skincare.

You may think of these often annoying programs as "trash TV", but think again. Did you realize that they use many of the exact same strategies that we should?

Now, I don't mean you need to scream at your customers or flash "$19.95" in blinking digits on your website! Those are gimmicks. But what most people don't realize is that many of the STRATEGIES that sell the kitchen doohickey gadget are the same ones that can also sell your products and programs.)

Here are 7 of my favorites:

1. They grab your attention.

Infomercials air on the most challenging medium there is out there: television. You're just a second away from your prospect clicking their remote to the next channel. So they do their best to get your attention right away and KEEP it for as long as possible.

That's why infomercials give bold statements and emphasize how this doohickey will change your life. You should do this too -- stop beating around the bush and make it clear to your prospects how your products and services will change *their* lives!

2. They give tons of real-life testimonials.

You'll see that TV infomercials have evolved greatly since years ago. It used to be one or two people talking to a camera for the entire time. These days most typical 30 minute spots are over 80% customer testimonials! And that's for good reason... they are the hands-down BEST way to gain instant credibility.

A great example is for one of those home exercise machines. I noticed years ago they just showed the super-ripped guy using it on the infomercial. Now they show that guy, PLUS dozens of before and after testimonials from real-life guys with beer bellies and real jobs who used the product with success. That was a great move on their part, because c'mon, I just can't believe that super-ripped guy got that hot looking using it just 30 minutes, 3 times a week!

3. They use personalities.

The most successful infomercials now use celebrity guest hosts. They know this gets people's attention more than practically anything out there. Pro Activ uses Jessica Simpson. Youthful Essence (a skincare product I love) uses Susan Lucci. Even NutriSystem is now using Dan Marino in their commercials to target men.

You can do the same in your marketing. You can either hire a star, or even better, make YOURSELF the celebrity... by sharing stories, being personal, and having fun with your market.

4. They give an irresistible offer.

It's rare these days to see an infomercial asking for you to pay for something in full. You'll mostly see things like "3 payments of $19.95" or "4 payments of $39.95". Why? Cash-crunched Americans are always more concerned about cash flow than the total price. They'll even happily pay much MORE in the end in order to gain a lower monthly payment!

You can do the same. Offer a payment plan for your products, courses, workshops, and coaching. You'll be AMAZED at the increased response, and it's easy to do with marketing-savvy shopping cart systems.

5. They give a strong call-to-action NOW.

These folks know that as soon as you change the channel, you're going to forget about their product. So they make it very urgent that you pick up the phone and call them now or visit their website and order. They usually say something like "If you call in the next 10 minutes you also get..." and they list a few great bonuses.

This isn't just specific to TV. Everyone would rather put off ANY decision these days, we're all so busy and overwhelmed! So you need to give people a good REASON to act now, whether it's a discount that expires, a payment plan that expires, a limited number of products or seats, a special bonus... you get the idea.

6. They sell on continuity.

What's "continuity"? speaking opportunities it's when you make ONE sale that results in multiple charges over and over. For example, because my friends have been raving about I.D. Bare Minerals natural makeup, I recently ordered a kit from their infomercial. Now, every 2 months, I receive a fresh supply in the mail, and my card is charged again. I love it because I don't have to remember to reorder. They love it because they only had to make ONE sale, and how they've got me as a customer forever until I cancel!

Hear me now... continuity will change your life! Consider how you can use this principle in your business. Could you convert some of your current offerings into a monthly membership? Or instead of doing one-shot teleseminars, create an ongoing monthly program? (I did this with my Marketing & Motivation Mastermind.)

7. They repeat themselves. And repeat themselves.

And repeat themselves again! Smart marketers know it takes an average of 9 TIMES for someone to see/hear your message BEFORE they will even consider purchasing! That goes for you too. So many of my clients complain that advertising doesn't work when they only ran one ad ONCE. Or published ONE newsletter and it didn't get them results.

Remember it's the ongoing exposure and repetition that breeds familiarity and trust with your prospects! And that leads to more sales than you've ever imagined.

3 Marketing Methods That Will Cost You Less

When you are first starting out in the online marketing field, you’ll find that there are a number of different marketing methods to choose from. However, not all methods will produce the same end result. It’s a good idea to start with the lowest cost methods available while your business is in the developmental stage. This will allow you to discover which method is best for you, without investing your dollars in something that might not produce a profit.

The 3 methods listed below are free or cost very little. You will find that each method has it’s own pros and cons. Take time to study all three and find out what method will best suit your style of business.

1) Traffic Exchanges. This method operates off of credits that are built by viewing other members’ websites. Once you have a certain number of credits built up, your website will be able to be viewed by the other members. Some are free and some may charge a monthly fee. A nice feature of this method is that it will create a large amount of traffic in a short amount of time. Something to keep in mind is the amount of time involved with viewing websites. It’s also helpful to know that this method typically works better for businesses that attract a wide audience because the traffic is not targeted.

2) Online Forums. Internet forums are web applications that allow discussions and postings by other viewers. The forums consist of a topic, which could be about just anything. To get started, do a search for forum and the topic you choose. Another way to locate them is through Google. Go to ‘Groups’ and search for your topic there. Most forums are free. Another advantage to this method is that the traffic is targeted.

The focus of forums is on the exchange of information. Be prepared to follow the rules and to take time posting comments that are useful. In some cases they will allow you to attach a signature to your comments. This is where you’ll put your website in order to trigger search engine spiders and get even more traffic to your site. If you can gain the reputation of an expert on your particular topic, while offering free advice whenever you can, it will build credibility.

With this method it may be a challenge to get past the ‘spam’ label. Another piece of advice is that the amount of traffic initially will probably not impress you.

3) Newsletters. Newsletters are important for site development, which will benefit the visitors who do come. You will be able to find the code for collecting emails from your host provider (free) or an auto-responder (could either be free or paid).

Set up a place on your website where visitors can enter their name and email address. Then you will have the opportunity to send them a free report about your topic. The report could include tips or news that would be of interest to them. This will give you an opportunity to build a relationship with prospects as well as maintain contact for future offers. Keep in mind that this method requires an investment of time and effort to keep the information current. Newsletters are typically written on a regular basis. Also, this method will not provide a way to attract new visitors.

As you think about these three strategies, consider what you have to offer when it comes to what will fit your model the best. Ask yourself the following questions: How much time do you want to invest? How will my business benefit from each method? What information can I provide? If you start by using two or even three of these methods you will likely establish a firm foundation for your business.

5 Catalogs Printing Design Tips and Suggested Marketing Uses

Format your catalog printing design to showcase the best of your products to your potential clients. Show more than just a list of products and services. Layout the catalog to showcase pictures that gives your clients the need to know, better yet, have the product for themselves. Although the catalog is more expensive than most of your advertising materials, it is a worthwhile investment. You and your clients can enjoy a long business relationship.

Here are some of the advantages of a catalog print:

* With big purchases the customer needs plenty of time deciding, there is little chance the salesperson can convince him or her instantly. Perhaps, the customer visited a sales-personnel to ask a few questions, but will wait to see other offers before making the decision. At this point, it is important to maintain a foothold in your client's consciousness, (because surely, the next salesman he visits would want to make sure you were forgotten). This is the best time to give him a catalog.

* The catalog acts like a portable salesman. It is a handy reminder of the product or service you are offering. At the end of the night, chances are, they can or will open the catalog and flip through the pages while deliberating on where to bring their business or spend their hard earned money.

* Clients can stare at the photographs, read the article several times, perhaps even show it to other people who can help make that crucial decision.

* The client may or may not buy from you even with a catalog, but imagine your chances of competing if you didn't have one. The catalog can be one of your most aggressive seller as it can be mailed and found in various homes. The catalogue may be expensive, but it is an investment a company serious about selling should make.

Catalog Design Tips and Suggestions Good catalog design should follow the following guidelines. Although these are not rigid rules, these are standard and precautionary tips that will help you maximize your catalogs.

1. The catalog design should be impressive, but it should never be too impressive to upstage your products and services. These are the stars of the show. Work with design elements and colors that enhance the products instead of compete with them.

2. Provide space for large glossy pictures. Although it is important to include the product specifications, products in catalogs should be self-explanatory and can sell on face value.

3. Unless you intend to have your catalog focus on one object, avoid selling a multitude of products that need lengthy explanations. The number can and may eventually overwhelm your clients. Gauge how many pieces you want to highlight in a page, given the amount or size of catalogs that you opted for.

4. Group similar objects together. Start with cheaper more popular items that are easier to buy and work your way up to more expensive, specialty items. Think of the small popular items as a warm up; it encourages casual browsing through, perhaps just to see how things cost nowadays. Knowing they can afford these items builds up their confidence of their own purchasing power.

5. The meatiest and most sought after items should be placed in the middle so your readers can take a good look of the previous pages. They can scan and look at your other products before proceeding to your popular item. In this manner, they know your product ranges better.

Follow these catalog printing design suggestions or refine them with your own experience. Sending out catalogs is a good way to tap into your repeat customers and to expand your market.

Exploring Marketing In Cyber Space

Going into business for yourself costs money. It doesn't matter what type of business it is, you are going to spend some kind of money getting started. Once your business is up and running, you need to attract customers. How are you going to do that? How are people going to know you are out there and purchase from you? You can use print ads, radio ads, billboard ads, or even television ads, but guess what? Yes, they are effective, but have you budgeted for that kind of expense?

One form of advertising that is cost effective, and can help attract customers to you is the internet. The internet and the World Wide Web (www) have attracted much attention since its appearance. The positive aspect of the internet is that businesses of all sizes have the same amount of exposure. Small business can now compete with the larger business in this relatively new environment. The internet is the most inexpensive marketing tool available in today's business world, as well as the most cost-effective. The internet is has become a sales channel, directed towards the consumer. You name the product, and you can find it on the internet.

Some people are uncomfortable with the internet, due to high tech phobias or to not understanding the associated jargon. There is no need to be afraid. We have seen so much in the last 20 years with technology, and there is nothing to be afraid of. You don't even need to know anything about technology to be successful, but you will need to know how to market yourself in a manner that separates you from the competition.

Think about how many people surf the web, and placing a business on the internet, will give it incredible exposure, and let a business owner reach millions of users. You are not confined to a specific area any more. Now a business can reach the world in a matter of minutes. This opportunity includes the online marketing networker as well. The internet is so much less expensive, compared to other forms of advertising. The online marketing networker could have a website built and up and running for a whole year for the same cost as one day's advertising in the classified section of a local newspaper. That message could be seen by people, from around the country and the world, for a fraction of the cost of any other marketing method, and will get more attention from the online prospect than any other method. The personal interaction is present which produces a very intimate selling situation.

The online marketing networker requires a different approach for development of online marketing network website. The following are four tips for the online marketing networker:

1. Building a professional online marketing network website with compelling copy, with the sole objective of obtaining more leads, more sales, and increased profitability, using fine, yet reasonable graphics and scripts to make it rich and appealing to the site visitors.

2. Use powerful, proven marketing strategies and techniques that allow your website to recognize excellent results and concurrently cutting online marketing network costs.

3. Improve the performance of the online marketing network website and transform it into a persuasive money making vehicle.

4. Employ customized and innovative marketing campaigns to increase online marketing network exposure and secure consistently superior results from the sales and marketing efforts.

The internet is a different marketing medium that requires its own rules and regulations for doing online marketing effectively. Instead of the advertisers sending a message to a targeted audience that acts or dismisses the call to action, online consumers seek out information and advertising. The consumers are the initiators of communication. Yet the internet is not a get-rich-quick scheme. Success on the internet requires full understanding of the concept, hard work, attention to detail, and constant promotional activity. The internet as a marketing tool is not about fancy graphics only; it's also about valuable industry information, professional marketing efforts and reliable hosting service, making it fast and easy to download information.

There are consumers out there, are you?

Looking For Success In Network Marketing!

After the 15 years in the Network Marketing Industry and helping mentor others to have success in this industry here's some advice I can offer to those not only looking for a home based business in Network Marketing but more importantly having success in Network Marketing.

Here are a few things I looked for in a company:

1. Timing. Timing is 100% critical to maximize every leveraged dollar out of an opportunity. It's extremely important to me to find and work with an emerging company that is more than a year old and hasn't yet gone into critical mass, this is timing.

2. Product Line. The product line needed to be an extremely unique and consumable where people are willing to purchase the product month in and month out for a life time.

3. Upline/Sponsor. You need to find the right upline that will work with you and your personality. Chose an sponsor and upline you can trust that will be there to help you build you business. In network marketing you're in business for yourself but not by yourself. Having the right sponsor and upline will be a major key to how much success you will have. Do your homework and find the group that has the most growth in the company. I've been a part of both in my experiences in network marketing, the top group and the lower group. I've had a lot more success when I'm with the #1 group in the company. The top group will have proven success systems and a formula for duplication. If you follow their system and do what they are doing you will have a higher chance for greater income.

4. Getting Started and Formulating a Contact List. Yes, it's imperative to make a list of your top 20 prospects you would want as business partners and I can't emphasize enough don't prejudge anyone! If you have a tough time coming up with 20 names contact your upline and ask them for help, that is what they are there for, to help you out. Most successful networkers will provide the downline with free leads. We do that with our group. With our group we provide free leads for all those who want to be active in building a business. After the list is established it's time to get to work and start calling on your prospects. You can come up with your own script or your upline leaders should provide you one. When making the calls if you're not comfortable doing these calls by yourself ask your sponsor or you upline leader to do some three way prospecting call with you. If your upline is unwilling to make calls with you find an upline that will!

5. Fear of Rejection (Someone saying "no" to you). You're going to get some no's and your going to visit with some negative people at times, you can't let this get you down as a person. An important solution to overcoming the fear of rejection was pointed out to me a few years back. I was told to put myself in a third person position, like an actor when prospecting. To better explain how to do this, prior to making telephone calls draw a line down the middle of a piece of paper, on one side of the paper write your name, on the other side of the piece of paper write your name with "the networker" behind it. When making calls you are "the networker". Whatever anybody says to you as the networker should not have any effect on your wellbeing as a person. Remember, you're a networker, any negative things said to you as a networker should not have any effect on you as a person.

6. When some gives you a "No", it means "No, not at this time".

An example of this is maybe the first time you called the prospect they told you no, I'm not looking or I don't want to. A month later at work their boss gave a person in the office who does the same work you do a buck an hour more pay raise that they got. You happen to call the prospect that night and the prospect is might be a little more open at this time than he was a month ago. Because of this your prospect might now give you a different response like "Yes, what do you have?"

The best advice I give to those who really desire success in this industry is you must commit to "change". A friend said this to me years ago, "If you don't change you direction you liable to end up where you're headed." In 1992 I took this to heart and made that change. Most successful networkers in the industry will agree you need to change your habits and your direction if you really want change to happen in your life. Things just don't happen by accident, if you continue to do the same routine and not committing to change your life won't change. You must really be committed and devoted to changing your way of living and this start by committing a couple hours a day strictly to your new business venture. These changes can be during the day, examples are: When driving to and from work instead of listening to the radio or playing music, call a prospect or listen to educational information that will help you with your new business. Another example is to schedule lunch meeting with a prospect. The biggest challenge will be in the evening, give the TV a break, Dancing With The Stars will get you nowhere! Make a commitment and devote 2-3 hours a night to prospecting and working with your organization. The more time you can commit to your business the faster you will build your business. From the day you make the decision to get started make a commitment over the next 6-12 months to devote 2-3 hours a night 3-4 days a week. These hours should be telephone prospecting and self-education on products, training, personal development.

See you at the top!

Forums are a great source to:

1. Promote your own product. Enter the URL of your website or sales page in your signature (sig) file. Each time you enter a post to ask or answer a question, make sure to include your sig file.

2. Find products to promote. The forums are filled with people who are promoting products. Look through the various posts to find products that fit your niche.

3. Find a profitable niche to develop products for. Examine post topics that have numerous questions. Typically, these are topics that people are interested in. Take note of the types of questions asked and the number of people asking similar questions. This can alert you to the need for a particular product. Make sure to go through these posts thoroughly. If the topic is filled with people answering a question, it is not a candidate for your ebook. If the topic consists primarily of questions, you may have found a profitable niche.

4. Get your website or sales page evaluated. Many forums provide areas where you can ask participants to review your site. You should be aware that you could sometimes get scathing reviews, so use this technique only if you can accept criticism.

5. Increase the page rank of your website. Posting in forums, especially well ranked ones, can provide the site that you place in your sig file with valuable back links. The search engines will see this information and reward your site accordingly.

6. Increased traffic to your website. I check my traffic regularly and I see consistent traffic to my sites from forums that I post to. This is a proven method to improve traffic.

7. Get information on a product, service, or company before you make a purchase. Many people are more than happy to give you their opinion on products or companies that they are familiar with.

8. Develop business contacts. In the brick and mortar world, business card swaps abound. Forums can provide a similar function. They offer the opportunity to develop business contacts without leaving your home.

9. Looking for someone to form a joint venture or some other mutually beneficial business deal. Forums are loaded with people who are open to joint ventures. You just have to get in there, make observations, and post when appropriate.

10. Find a mentor. Many people will assist those with less experience for free. I have seen many posts offering to help newbies.

Forums can be very beneficial to the experienced marketer as well as the newbie. The most beneficial forums are those related to your site or niche. Seek out those related forums and your business will surely benefit.

7 Quick Tips To Leverage Your Internet Marketing Efforts

When we talk about the word "leverage", most people tend to think of borrowed funds. But for this time alone, you should think of the word "leverage" in another way. Gilbert Nieuwenhuis in Our Little Net defined leverage simply as "doing more with less" while the ever-functional Wikipedia explained it as "using given resources in such a way that the potential positive outcome is magnified".

Both definitions are great either way so when you work on leveraging your Internet marketing efforts, it doesn't mean using borrowed money to gain Internet marketing success but rather, doing the best you can with what you've already have.

Here are 7 quick tips that you can use right now to leverage your internet marketing efforts:

Tip #1 Popularity matters.

If you've heard about the Next Internet Millionaire contest, you could learn a lot of things about Internet marketing from the way this competition is being promoted. Whether it's a scam or not, it doesn't matter in the end because the buzz it's creating is already earning the show's producers a ton of moolah.

And if you look at its criteria for video selection, vote popularity for its YouTube auditions is equivalent to 50% and 30% for the first and second rounds respectively. Obviously, the show's producers understand that Internet marketing success is always dependent on the numbers. Publicity is publicity, whether good or bad so avoid using mediocre Internet marketing strategies. They should either love it or hate it.

Tip #2 Go back to the past.

This is an Internet marketing tip that's primarily effective for blogs. When you write a new entry for your blog, try to remember if you've written something that's related to it in the past. If so, post a trackback link so that other pages of your blog may also be visited. This can increase your search engine rankings.

There are other ways for you to post trackback links. If you are writing a follow-up entry, post a trackback to the original. Trackbacks can also be used for posts that are part of a certain series, make sure you label them accordingly of course.

Tip #3 Advertise tirelessly.

Let's say you've just launched a new promotion for your company, you should make the most out of it by advertising it everywhere you can. Don't be contented with what traffic you can generate by simply posting news about it on your blog and newsletter. Advertise in other blogs and websites. Talk about it in forums. Ask your affiliates to spread the word. Take advantage of every Internet marketing opportunity possible for your strategy!

Tip #4 Establish your reputation.

A whisper from a good man will sound more convincing than a shout from a bad one. Providing excellent service and achieving customer satisfaction will go a long way in building your credibility. It will not only boost your sales but also make marketing easier for you. Once you have something to say, most people will sit up and take notice without any further urging because they know you can be trusted.

Tip #5 Strengthen your relationships.

You must build a strong relationship with your customers, suppliers, distributors, retailers, and whoever else your business frequently comes into contact with. They make up the first and innermost circle of your network. What they say can make your Internet marketing strategy an outright success... Or a huge flop. If you have excellent relationship with these people, all of your Internet marketing strategies will benefit from instant word of mouth.

Tip #6 Always look for opportunities to exchange links.

With simple link trading, the traffic your website is generating can easily double or triple depending on how much traffic the other website is receiving.

One popular form of link exchange is creating an affiliate marketing program. With this type of program, you only reward your affiliates when they do something that directly benefits your website. You could ask them to increase customer awareness or sales. Either way, you enjoy instant and total exposure through your links without having to pay a cent. Give or take has never been so beneficial!

Tip #7 Last but not the least, create new content about the same topic.

When you like someone, you can express your feelings in a hundred different ways, can't you? You must be able to do the same when marketing your business!

Follow these tips and results from your efforts will surely be magnified.

Door to Door Marketing Tips

The moment door to door selling comes in picture, a lean mean man thrusting encyclopedias and vacuum cleaners to your face comes in mind. But things have changed and now direct selling has become a very rewarding career. No wonder these days, door to door marketing has become a hot favorite job profile with the youngsters. The rewards and the personal growth that a direct selling job offers are remarkable. Apart from the handsome pay package and perks, one gets exposed to the variety of shades of human persona. Here are a few useful door to door marketing tips that will help you boost your career:

Strong Communication Skills Will Say It All

The moment you set foot at your prospects door, be prepared to introduce yourself and your product and services. You shouldn't go on describing but the conversation should be well paused. Keep the description short and simple so that your prospect is compelled to ask you more about your product or service. So captivating your prospect's interest is the first task that will make or break your MISSION MARKETING.

Basic Etiquettes and Formalities

Greet your prospect politely and keep your pitch accordingly. Don't speak in a manner that looks loud and boisterous. At the same time, your voice shouldn't be too slow. Dress up in sober colors as that sends the right and intended message. There is no room for parading flashy clothes and making your prospect suspicious about you. You can dress casually yet look professional. If there is a dress-code, then you need to dress according to that.

Explain the Product Convincingly

Know your product well and start with the features and benefits of your product. Explain well and as soon as you feel that the prospect is interested, convince him to buy the product by emphasizing on the benefits. Tell the prospect why your product is the best among other similar products.

Perfect Blend of Logic and Emotions

Your prospect surely won't be looking forward to a bag full of facts and logic. Remember people generally think from heart while buying. The vindication certainly takes place but later on. You need to cash in on this and try to connect with the prospect. Humor is another sure shot armor to build a rapport with your prospects.

Evaluate and learn from experience

Door to door marketing is an art that gets better and polished with practice over a period of time. Unsuccessful attempts shouldn't be perceived as a failure. Rather it should be treated as a lesson learnt. Introspect and try to avoid mistakes that you committed during your last trial.

Three Easy But Inexpensive Business Marketing Tips

Lately businesses have suffered a slump due to the struggling regional economy and many business owners would want to promote and boost sales the cheap and inexpensive way. Business marketing would entail cost and owners and board of directors would want to keep it at the minimum to soften the influx of inbound and outbound cash flow.

There are many ways to deal with business marketing and everything lies with the premise of exposure and brand name mileage. It may be an advertisement on national television or a flyer distributed at a local pewee baseball game, this always leads to brand and business exposure.

Here are five easy and inexpensive tips that could get that mileage and give your business a sales boost.

Letterheads, Logo's and Emblem Envelops

As much as possible we would not want people scouring through our mail but having these business paraphernalia could make your business look more serious and professional. Logos on envelopes and stationeries can be noticed by third party individuals that might be looking for your services or products. It is important that you have a comprehensive paraphernalia design that can get messages across and not confuse your potential clients.

Press Releases and Infomercials

Many cable companies now offer there own channels as community billboard or an alternative to the local community channel and most of them would only be asking for just a fraction of what national television media are asking. Although having to narrowcast on the local area would mean fewer audiences but for a small local business it can be a huge impact since this is the only market that you cater to.

Local newspapers and magazines are open to press releases or an interestingly written informative article about your product. Media would need to research on interesting topics that they could fill their paper with for people to buy them and your product could be interesting enough to be featured on as an article or press release instead of advertising it. This could give a positive image to your company and product.

Sponsoring Community Based Activities

Having a business to sponsor a community activity may be one of the hardest to measure in terms of brand impact and recall. Though it may be hard to quantify and could be impossible to measure, it is one of the oldest tricks in marketing books. This business activity can promote brand loyalty among the society.

Another impact that can be enjoyed by this is the news about the sports event that carries your name, and it would be best to sponsor the team that has the highest chance of winning since everybody loves a winner.

Brand marketing strategies require patience and perseverance in achieving good results based on your budget. Everything is about timing, a good business marketing mix that is not well thought about or planned can lead to disaster with financial as well as moral losses. So be wary before spending your budget, because there is no half-way, either you push it-giving 100% support to your business marketing or not pushing it at all.

5 Quick Tips for Marketing Masterpieces

Own a small business? Then you know what it’s like to be in a crunch. You’ve got phone calls to answer, reports to analyze, bills to pay… it seems like the last thing you have time for is spending weeks masterminding a gigantic marketing campaign. Relax! Here are five simple, but essential tricks of the designer’s trade that you can use right now, with little cost and big results.

1) Don’t reinvent the wheel " use quality clip art and stock photos! Unless you’re a professional illustrator or photographer, you’ll find it much easier… and less expensive… to find a design you like from a photo stock library. And with the incredible variety of quality and prices to choose from, you’re bound to find something perfect for your project. The Internet is the best place to start. Once you find the right look, you can use the same style of graphics to create a consistent look for your marketing piece.

2) Nothing creates dramatic effect like contrast. It’s Art 101. A color is best set off by its opposite on the color wheel. But besides contrasting colors, you can use contrasting fonts, shapes, and graphics. Different sizes in your text and graphics will add contrast too, and will draw the viewer’s eye to the differences. And, of course, use white space to add punch to your biggest selling points.

3) Repeat as necessary. Good design calls for repeating certain elements throughout to make the whole piece come together visually. If you are using bullets, make them all the same color and shape. Do the same for all your headlines. If you’ve used boxes, borders or banners, make sure those are all matching as well. And when you’re through designing, go back and review your work " is everything consistent?

4) Am I in your space? Help readers know which caption goes with which picture with a little thing called “proximity”. Proximity is the space between two elements, i.e. the picture and caption. Too far, and they won’t make the connection you want them to. Too close, and it loses its dramatic impact. This goes for headlines and subheads, as well.

5) Serif or Sans Serif… that is the question. It really depends on whether it’s for the body of your ad or a headline. If you have a large amount of text, go with a serif font. Serif fonts have those tiny horizontal strokes attached to the letters that help the reader’s eyes flow from letter to letter. But for headlines and subheads, you’ll want to go with a sans serif font. Why? Because it will slow the reader down, bringing attention to each word or concept. Here are a few good serif fonts to use for body copy: Times, New Century Schoolbook, Garamond and Goudy. Now for the sans serif fonts, some good headline makers are: Arial Bold, Helvetica Black, Univers Bold and Trade Gothic.

With these quick and easy techniques, you can easily design your own marketing materials in no time. Good luck on your next marketing campaign!

How to become Unsuccessful in Joint Venture Marketing

Joint ventures is the most favored and easiest way of increasing sales and cash flows. Nowadays, almost everybody knows that finding a good joint venture is the answer to getting online success.

But why is it that some people are not using this strategy for their online business? Why were they not able to make their joint ventures work?

The reasons this may be are because of

1. Not offering your joint ventures. Are you just sitting there and waiting for a potential partner to just come up to you and tell you that they want to get into joint ventures with you?

Unless you give them something they will not be able to resist, most partners are not looking forward to your offer.

You obviously have to put in some time to think up a good offer. But then, all this will be worth the effort once you have your joint ventures up and rolling. As with every business, it take commitment and dedication to be able to get where you want to go. Nothing will be achieved in not trying.

2. Not following up. You are probably discouraged already because you have not heard from all that you have sent proposals to. Did it ever occur to you to follow up on those?

Joint ventures is sometimes considered spam because of the way they are being sent. So chances are, the ones who have received yours may have had that same thought and thrashed your proposals with all the rest.

Following up is the solution. The possibility that your potential customers will notice you is very much high when you follow up regularly. Based on the experience of joint ventures marketer, it takes a second or third email to get a response.

A combination of a follow-up email and a telephone call has also been known to get higher response rates. This is an option worth considering.

3. Not personalizing your joint venture offer. If your proposal does not speak directly to your readers, it probably will not succeed. That is one of the reasons why you should allot some time when creating a joint venture proposal.

It would be best to get to know more about the person and the business he or she is running. Go over to their site and check out what they are all about. This way, you can offer them a proposal that is crafted especially for them.

Mention some of the things you have seen on their site so they will know that you are really putting on time and effort in getting to know them.

4. A joint venture partner is worlds apart from joint ventures affiliate. The commissions you are offering your affiliates should not be the same as the commission will offer your partner. When you offer higher commissions to them, it will increase your chances of them accepting your proposal.

The standard commissions offered to joint venture partners should be more than 50 percent.

5. Targeting your kind. Do not be overconfident and try to large and stable businesses. The probability of them accepting you is very slim. Try out several businesses similar as yours or smaller than you are. By partnering with them, you can build a good track record about you and your success. Once you have done this, you can then go on and approach bigger companies.

Take into account that large businesses are also facing large problems. If they are that successful, they might already have the same products and services that you are offering. And their customers are already happy with what they have.

But if you feel that you have something unique and worthwhile to offer them, why not try? You have got nothing to lose by trying. At least you tried rather than just think of what could have been. Now that you have a basic knowledge of what and what not to do with your joint venture proposal, you may want to rethink your strategy. It is best to try out different strategies and see which ones will work best for you.

Keep in mind that this is your joint venture and its future that you are giving out. Be sure to always think hard before making a final decision.

Relationship Marketing Will Increase Customer Ranking

Relationship Marketing is done with a strategic orientation, where the relationship is improved with existing customers rather than finding new customers. It is meant to cater to the needs of individual customers. Its major part involves studying the need of the customer and how it changes in different circumstances.

Relationship marketing applies techniques like marketing, sales, customer care and communication. The relationship is not only enhanced, but its life period is increased by these strategies. And as the customer realizes the value of this relationship, they are drawn closer. This type of marketing not only focuses on building relationships and attracting customers to their products and services, but also how to retain them.

A raw form of Marketing came into existence in the 1960s. But, organizations were still facing difficulty in selling products, so a system was developed to sell low cost goods to larger group of customers. Leonard Berry and Jag Sheth originated this marketing system in 1982. It was started in B2B markets and industries, which involved long term contracts for many years. Over a period of time, various marketing strategies were improved and relationship marketing was one of them.

Relationship marketing is applicable where the customers have many options in the market for the same product or service and the customer is entitled to make a selective decision. In such a market, businesses try to maintain their clients by providing comparatively better products and good service and hence, achieving customer loyalty. And once it is achieved, it becomes difficult for competitors to do well in the market. The customer turnover wasn't paid as much attention to, as the customer satisfaction was. This kind of marketing was initially named as defensive marketing. Offensive marketing is the marketing strategy where not only new customers are attracted, but also the sales are stepped up by increasing the purchase frequency. This kind of marketing concentrates on freeing dissatisfied customers and acquiring new customers.

According to a research, the cost of retaining an old customer is only ten percent of the cost of getting a new customer, which makes sense not to run around to get new customers in relationship marketing. And according to another research done by cross-sectional analysis, says that, a five percent improvement in customer retention is responsible for twenty-five to eighty-five percent of the profit. Usually high cost is incurred when getting new customers, so if a sufficient number of existing customers is retained, there will be no need of acquiring new customers.

Once the customer trust is gained, their chances of switching to another company becomes relatively less. He buys goods in bulk, he buys other supplementary goods and he starts neglecting average price variation. This maintains the unit sales volume and there is an increase in dollar-sales volume. The existing customers will be like a living advertisement. If they are satisfied with the company, they will recommend it to their friends and acquaintances.

Since the existing customers are familiar with the process, it will take less time and money to educate them about the procedures, putting fewer burdens on employees and also making them feel more satisfied with their jobs. The customers are divided into groups based on their loyalty. This procedure is known as the relationship ladder of customer loyalty. These groups in ascending order are prospects, customer, client, supporter, advocate and partner.

Due to the advancement in computers and the Internet, software has been developed to facilitate customer relationship management. With the help of this software, the tastes, activities, preferences, and complaints of customers are tracked. Almost all the companies have this software in their marketing strategy, which benefits the customer as well as the company.

Thus the main aim of relationship marketing is to construct and maintain relationship with committed clients who are meant to bring profit to the company. The other benefits achieved are confidence building and social benefits.

Building An Audience For Your Internet Marketing Business

I'm willing to bet many of the things you have purchased or signed-up for online are products and services that have been endorsed by people you know, admire, and trust. And a majority of these endorsements have probably come through email communication.

But you don't follow the recommendations of just anyone who sends you an email, do you? Of course you don't.

You are probably in the habit of deleting several emails each day from people you have never met who want to sell you prescription drugs, discount software, and search engine submission services. But there are other emails you look forward to getting, and probably open as soon as you see them in your inbox.

Perhaps there are a couple of weekly newsletters you really enjoy. And maybe you are subscribed to a special announcement list that always delivers very exciting information. You may respect the person who sends these emails because of their achievements as a marketer. Or it could be that you just plain like their personality and get a kick out of their writing style.

Either way, you are quite likely to at least have a look at something recommended in an email from someone whose work you appreciate. What's more, if it's something that peaks your interest, the endorsement from an individual you have grown to like and trust is often enough to encourage you to go ahead and buy.

This is human nature. We love to buy, but don't much care for the idea of being sold. A friendly suggestion made by a person we like carries tenfold the power of the world's slickest sales pitch.

Once you begin the process of building your own opt-in list, you can't just start blasting away with cheesy sales copy and expect positive results. Granted, there are people out there who will buy anything with a price tag, but you can't be certain those people will be on your list right away. You have to give your readers some quality information, and let them have the chance to get to know a little about who you are.

A big part of Internet marketing is building mutually beneficial relationships. If you have some valuable knowledge, share this with your readers and ask for nothing in return. If you have a way with words and funny antic dotes, make them laugh. The retail transactions take a back seat to personal interaction and honest communication. You want the people on your list to regard you as a friend, and you want them to see you as a leader.

It doesn't matter whether your list is built on the premise of a ten day automated training series, or weekly updates that you send manually. The relevant issue is how personal you make each message that you compose. Provide your contact information in every email you send, and encourage people to use it. Let your subscribers know on a regular basis that you would be happy to hear from them.

Always respond as quickly as possible to any correspondence you receive from a member of your personal list. A subscriber who takes the time to contact you should be treated as your top priority.

Ultimately, you want to create more than just a list of people who are willing to receive your emails. You should be striving to build a dedicated audience who reads your messages as soon as they find them and looks forward to your next communication.

Every leader has a following, and by this token every successful Internet marketer has an audience. The way to achieve this is by giving your opt-in prospects more information than they need, and always taking the time to help them, or even just chat with them, when they ask for it. Become the person your readers go to when they have a question and your road to profit will become a lot shorter and much less bumpy.

Successful Internet marketing is not about blasting your ads to 1 million random email addresses or posting your text links on every site that will accept them. It's about stepping out of the crowd and being viewed as someone who has a purpose and a message.

You can't fake it. But you can do it if you are willing to put yourself out there.

How To Set Up A Business In Affiliate Marketing

One of the most common mistakes to avoid is to direct traffic exactly to your affiliate link. By doing so, you will not see the income potential a squeeze page can add. A squeeze page allows you to create a page specifically for the product or service that you are marketing. It also includes a request form for the name and email address of the site viewer.

If a person has an interest in finding out more about your product or service, they can fill in their contact information on the form. Once this happens, they will be led to a thank you page that includes an exact link to the specific product or service. Yes, an exact link, not a homepage where they'll have to comb over every detail amidst of everything you offer before finding what it is they're looking for. The exact link will provide additional information about the product or service that they're interested in. From the customer's point of view, it is a very positive detail to not be directed to a general website that has nothing to do with what they want.

Another thing to keep in mind with squeeze pages is that you'll need to have a separate one for each product or service that you market. It's recommended to start out with a single affiliate program where you can focus on just a couple of products through the use of squeeze pages. This will greatly increase your opportunity for a successful business.

There are also some options that will cost nothing to you, but will provide a strong advantage to your marketing techniques. One example is to create a blog. Go to www.blogger.com for a free one. If you're not familiar with a blog, it won't be hard to figure out how they work. A blog is an online journal that is frequently updated and contains posts from viewers who want to leave a comment or question. There is much freedom in choosing a topic for the blog, which can correspond to any affiliate programs that you join.

Another example is a free website, which you can get from www.freewebs.com. It's also a good idea to get your own domain name for your website. If you go to www.co.nr you can get a free one without any ads, which is also a bonus.

Once you've got a blog and a website, make posts to your blog and set it up to notify other sites each time you've updated your site. This is called pinging and will work to your advantage with search engines because your rank will increase. At the same time, your site's popularity will increase because it will be triggered by indexing spiders.

Another way to use your blog is to create posts that include a link to your website. You also may want to create a post that includes an affiliate link that pertains to your blog topic as well. This is a good way to advertise without being overbearing. Another benefit this offers is that the number of links to your site will increase, thus your rank on search engines will also increase.
